Desperate English Housewife in Washington, chapter 533

Forty in the USA!

Today I turned 40 in the USA. Did you read what I just wrote? I wrote ‘turned 40’, which is not a phrase I would have used before living in the States. I would have said something like ‘I was 40 today’ in UK-speaky!

Anyway, yes, the Desperate Housewife is 40, which, I am told, properly qualifies me as a MILF…. 😉

Happy Birthday Brunch to Me!

Back on TV!

This recurring thing of me being on TV in America-land is happening again – and it’s this Friday 5 December, WBFF Fox 45, 945am.

This time I’m promoting Fitness Holiday Gifts – right up my street!

What can you get for the fitness freak in your life?

The Polar Loop; Arctic Ease Wraps; My Locker customised apparel. I’m loving them all, especially the Polar Loop – it even tells me when to get up off my arse and my move (like it will do in about 10 mins!).

This is me in my promo gear and customised hat!

Be sure to tune in or check back to the blog for the video! 🙂

Visitor from the UK

I have a visitor coming over from the UK to spend 10 days with me. She doesn’t know it yet, but I’m going to be recording her impressions of everything we do and see as I take her around Maryland. It’s going to be interesting!

Happy Birthday and many more! By the way, I really enjoy your blog. It’s definitely fun to hear your expat/British take on my home region. (I am from the suburban sprawl on the other side of the Potomac – e.g., one of the minority DMV-ers that was born and raised in Fairfax County.)

I especially get a kick out of your blogs that deal with the otherwise unassuming or mundane aspects of American life (Whole Foods). Will miss your blogs when you repatriate, but hope the transition goes smoothly. Frankly, I think you all should travel to Hawaii or someplace fun that is harder to get to from England before you leave. And if you really want to get a kick out of the American take on the Revolutionary war, etc., I would suggest some daytrips to places like Williamsburg, Yorktown, or Middleburg, VA.

    Best,
    Kelly

Happy Birthday! Hope you were spoiled rotten on your special day. I just turned 45, so I get the middle age thing all too well. Looking forward to reading about your friend’s impressions. I used to live in McLean, VA/Fairfax County. Left there to move to Charlotte, NC as a newly wed in 1999. I too enjoy reading about your experiences in the suburban sprawl that is the DC metro area. Also looking forward to reading about your repatriation experience. I’m sure you’ll take the UK by storm now that you’ve done more in America in the short time you’ve been here than most of us natives have done in our whole lives! Well done! 🙂

Lol…Happy Birthday! 40 is the new 20 and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise!
