G&T

How excited I was to be invited to a G&T parents’ evening at Harry’s school! Gosh, this is a turn up for the books! I had better phone my mother and see if she’s available to pop on over the Atlantic – she does so enjoy a G&T.

But wait…..they don’t mean Gin and Tonic, do they? They mean I am invited to a ‘Gifted and Talented’ evening to see if my kid is smart (which, by the way, doesn’t include creating your own comic book called ‘The Bat That Makes Everybody Nudie Pants). Oh, I see. Much disappointment now 😦 .

Sad day in Maryland

My friend said this so well that I just copied what he said: ‘Today is October 1st. Today we mourn the loss of Tax-Free shopping on Amazon in Maryland, as the new Baltimore Distribution Center now requires them to collect sales tax starting today.’

Although I think he sounds like a Dutch beer, apparently he is a fine professional dancer on the American TV show Dancing with the Stars, and I have the opportunity to go and ‘shake my booty’ (as they say over here) with him in a few weeks at one of the gyms I work with.

I may well have to do that if he can make me shimmy like this:
