Desperate English Housewife in Washington, chapter 106

St George’s Day celebrations….?

I’ve written an article (with a little guidance from my parents!) about St George’s Day in England.

It’s a guest blog piece for the Smitten by Britain blog-site.

Have a read! And if you are very nice about it, I might invite your round for roast beef and spotted dick with custard!

(And, yes, that is a picture of my father dressing his naked statue of David in preparation for St George’s Day celebrations….. 🙂 )

This was so good to read – and let us hear the St George’s Day toast – From King Henry V and Shakespeare in the rousing speech before the Battle of Agincourt against the French – “Cry God for , Harry and England and St George ” . —— England won!
